I was born in Belet Weyne,Somalia.I grew up there and in Mogadishu.I went to school with the italian nuns in Mogadishu.I lived and studied in Moscow for 12 years: nursery/midwifery school and later medicine.I live in Denmark since 1977 and here I specialized in psychiatry and group psychotherapy.I worked in different psychiatric institutions and my main focus has been mentally ill immigrants and refugees.I lived and worked for 9 years in Greenland and as chief psychiatrist I worked on organizing the psychiatric services.For 5 years I worked in Burao/Somaliland where I,together with other somali professionals from diaspora,organized community based psychiatric services.
In january 2018 I started working in Belet Weyne,Somalia.
